Udham Singh became shaheed for the "Blood of the Bagh". He avenged the massacre that saw thousands of innocent people killed. Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, involved the killing of hundreds of unarmed, defenceless Indians by a senior British military officer, which took place on 13 April 1919 in the heart of Amritsar, the holiest city of the Sikhs, on a day sacred to them as the birth anniversary of the Khalsa (Vaisakhi day). 1300 Punjabi's were assembled in the Bagh, out of 1300, 799 Sikhs and 501 Hindus and Muslims, gave their lives for freedom.
